In future I want to be a machine learning engineer. Two routes into that are to start as a software engineer or as a data scientist. I've gained lots of software engineering experience through my degree but no data science prior to this internship.

My application required detailed answers to a few short questions. This was followed by a non technical interview where I was asked about my experience using the technologies they were looking to implement.
They were working on something I found personally interesting and allowed me to learn and apply skills I want to use in my future career.
I was in charge of the NLU/NLP (natural language processing) chatbot project. This chatbot was designed to help users identify their personal goals.
I worked from home for the full duration of the internship. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there would be a full team meeting at 9am where we would update the project manager on our progress. From there the hours were flexible and we would work on our projects. At the end of the day we would evaluate our progress against our goals and send the project manager notice of what we've achieved.
I really enjoyed working with machine learning related technology as I'm hoping I can use this experience to help me find a job in the AI field.
The internship was only 5 weeks long so I had to learn and apply lots of new technology at a particularly fast rate.
I learned and received training on generative AI and how to use the Google Cloud suite of tools.
It's made me more confident about pursuing AI as a discipline and made me consider applying to data science as well as software engineering grad schemes.
Before I graduate I want to apply to various grad schemes in software engineering and data science and then go from there.
