About the placement/internship

Why did you decide to do a placement/internship?

I wanted to utilise my skills and knowledge from my degree in practice.

How did you find your placement/internship?

Career Connect

What made you choose this organisation for your placement/internship?

The work sounded very similar to the skills we have developed at university and the community aspect interested me.

Main responsibilities

I was responsible for designing a community survey and helping to complete and analyse the results. I had to make a report on the findings.

Typical day

Working on Survey Monkey, designing a survey, going out in to the community to complete the survey, analysing the results, presenting results as a report.

What did I enjoy about my placement/internship?

The work was varied and enjoyable. I was able to stretch myself as well as gain the support needed from my leader.

Did you use any skills learned from your course?

I used the ability to devise a survey, analyse the results and present a report on the findings. My course helped me as I was able to draw upon what a good survey should look like as well as recognising the weaknesses in my design.

Advice to students

My piece of advice to students

Go for it - internships are a great way to develop your skills and show off what you have learnt, you will amaze yourself!
