I wanted to work on the Decolonising the Curriculum within my department of Arts and Humanities, so when this opportunity presented itself, I was excited to apply for it and make a difference to my curriculum.
Career Connect
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and lockdown, all of my work was online. The role was split between doing a literature review and creating an online magazine; a conversational piece for both staff and students to benefit from.
Each week varied; at the start of the internship, I would spend a couple of hours reading and researching resources regarding the DtC movement and write a summary and analysis of them to include within my report. Towards the end of my internship, I began actually putting the magazine together. This meant editing staff and student responses and case studies. I also became familiar with various types of software to create the magazine.
