As I have never had much work experience, I felt working for a charity I would gain invaluable experience.
This was a telephone conversation followed by an interview which was more like an informal chat.
I loved the work they do to help people back into the society which is really important to me.
I shadowed the director a lot, I took notes, researched a lot of projects and delivered some presentations about going into university.
In the morning I would work with children and in the afternoon I would go with the directors to schools to deliver presentations. I also would work with the operations team, seeing the ins and out how a charity is run.
Working with the children. Although they were challenging, I felt like I learnt a lot.
Working with the difficult children as getting them to listen at times was tough. Also having to deliver presentations was also challenging.
Research skills which I used for funding.
