The notices which appear in this bulletin are from organisations which are able to offer funding for research students, students on taught postgraduate courses, and students/graduates undertaking study abroad for short periods. In the case of research awards, successful candidates will usually be expected to register for a higher degree, ie a PhD or, exceptionally, MPhil.
Further details of each award can be found in the files labelled 'Research Awards, Studentships and Scholarships' at the end of the 'Postgraduate Study' section of the Careers Service at 388 Glossop Road. Within these files, material is arranged alphabetically according to the name of the organisation offering awards/studentships.
Useful general information on postgraduate study (including sources of funding) can be found in the AGCAS Booklet 'Postgraduate Study and Research' (available to take away from the Careers Service), and the Careers Service's briefing sheet Further Study available as a pdf file.
